Adopting a Chihuahua Puppy

Chihuahuas are wonderful for apartment living, city life, a family household and they’re also the right size to fit in your lap.

Who we are

We are a large extended family of chihuahua lovers from Southern Ontario. We have had these dogs in our family since the late 1800’s. Our family gatherings sometimes include as many of these little guys as there is guests. It seems as though everyone has a least a couple. That’s really the best thing about Chihuahuas, you can bring them just about anywhere and its easy to have your own little pack because they are so small and easy to take care of. We have always gotten a kick out of just watching the dogs interact with each other. That is when you can really see the distinct personalities emerge, and we are constantly amazed at how naturally their relationships develop and really how well they all get along. That’s not to say a single Chi Chi isn’t just the best companion ever. They are perfectly content to be by themselves but are absolutely fine with the undivided attention of their owner. They also do really well with larger dogs or cats. There are a ton of chihuahuas living harmoniously with cats, simply because a lot of cat people are looking for a dog but want something the size of a cat.

The purpose of this site is to have a place where we can share some of the knowledge we have acquired over the decades with these dogs. There is a lot of specific information with respect to the care of these dogs that is sometimes hard to come by. They are the worlds smallest dog so it’s no surprise that the typical chihuahua owner will have breed specific questions that they may have trouble finding the answers to. We are hoping to help with that.

As far as breeding goes, we are certainly not against the practice. If it is practiced by responsible owners who understand the specific needs of these dogs and is done humanely with the care of the animals as the primary goal, raising a litter of these puppies can be a wonderful experience for the dogs, the breeder and of course the lucky families who get the opportunity to raise one of these exceptional animals. Because they are so small and easy to manage, there is really no excuse for not providing the best environment possible when raising these dogs. We sometimes have litters ourselves, and when we have puppies ready for re homing, we will feature them here.

In our experience, Chihuahua enthusiasts are some of the most down to earth, caring people we have ever met. Many of the people we have placed puppies with end up being lifelong friends. We have never ever had a problem finding a suitable home for any of our little guys. We absolutely love talking to people about our dogs and we encourage any prospective owner to contact us directly so we can make sure that we get a great fit between the puppy and the new owner.
